Why Muay Thai?

Intensity
Muay Thai is the martial art from Thailand that dates back to the 1200s AD. Since then it has been consistently used in competition between Thai villages and close combat training for Thailand's military. Today, Muay Thai is still used in military training and is Thailand's national sport.
Muay Thai is a powerful stand-up combat system and is considered one of the most street effective of the martial arts. Muay Thai is an essential part of training for anyone who competes or wishes to compete in MMA. Often referred to as "the science of eight limbs," Muay Thai focuses on using your fists, elbows, knees and legs as weapons. Once effectively trained in this "weaponry," you will always be prepared to defend yourself.
Whether you are training for self-defense, competition, exercise or just for fun, the intense training involved in Muay Thai will result in a great workout to get you in the best shape of your life.

TRAIN WITH CHAMPIONS
Hard Knocks is home to world-class fighters and champions who train and teach here

Christine Ferea
BKFC World Champion
Christine Ferea, the current BKFC World Champion, trained under Renzo at Hard Knocks Muay Thai before rising to the top of the bare knuckle fighting world. Her striking precision and devastating power were developed right here in our gym.
Today, Christine continues to train at Hard Knocks while pursuing her professional fighting career. Her journey from student to world champion exemplifies what's possible when you train at Hard Knocks.
Why Judo?
The Gentle Way
Judo, which means "the gentle way," is an Olympic sport and martial art that focuses on throws, pins, and submissions. Founded in Japan in 1882 by Jigoro Kano, Judo has evolved into one of the world's most widely practiced martial arts.
At Hard Knocks, our Judo program emphasizes safe practice and proper falling techniques. Classes are structured to accommodate all skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced practitioners.

Judo training complements striking arts like Muay Thai by developing strong grappling skills, balance, and body awareness. The technical mastery of Judo allows practitioners to control opponents through throws and groundwork, making it an excellent addition to any martial artist's skill set.
Our Judo program has produced national-level competitors, including David Chen, whose technical mastery earned him gold at the Winter Nationals competition. Whether you're looking to compete or simply learn effective self-defense, our Judo classes provide a supportive environment to develop your skills.
